Kausha is one of the hottest heroines in Tollywood. More popular for her scintillating numbers and revealing photographs, Kausha is a delight. Any red blooded male will vouch for this. She made her debut in Premaha Namaha as the heroine but she shot to fame with her glam roles. She is bold. She is too hot on screen. Interestingly, she is also very intelligent and practical woman as off screen. Her real life story is similar to hindi film Rangeela. In a free-wheeling chat with us, here she is revealing many facets..How did you enter into filmdom?
I am real Rangeela girl. I am born and brought up in Mumbai. I was a troupe dancer. I had danced for every top choreographer in Bollywood from Farha Khan to Ahmed Khan. Like Urmila Matondkar in Ram Gopal Varma's Rangeela, I was one of the dancers in films and eventually ended up as actress. When I was dancing for Nagarjuna's Manmadhudu, a director approached me and posed, "would you like to become an actress?"
He cast me as heroine in Premaha Namaha. That was my first film as actress and it was perfect launch. I was appreciated for my acting skills and dance skills. But the film was not successful.
Did you nurture dreams of becoming actress since childhood?
I never thought of even venturing into glamour field. When I was kid, I used to watch Sridevi, Karisma Kapoor and other stars on TV and observing their jatka matkas keenly. I fancied them. That had grabbed my attention. That's it but I never imagined being in their place. I had done diploma in Art Teaching Diploma in Drawing. Even when I was continuing in dance troupe, I had got couple of acting offers then I didn't say yes.

After making entry as heroine, what made you to switch over to item songs subsequently?I didn't switch to the item songs. I don't know why people assume that doing item songs is something wrong. In fact there are people who come to the movies not just for heroines, they would just hit down to the theatres to have that glimpse of spicy song. I believe one should not put participation that 'item girl' and 'heroine'. It is all part of the whole movie. My question to you is that "if people really feel it is cheap and wrong why would they become so popular? Why did 'Beedi..' song and "Kajra Re.." become a rage?"
About wearing two peice bikini in Attili Sattibabu..
I wore bikini for one of the songs. I think when you make a film, you need to have complete masala. You need to pep up with some spice. So I wore it to please the audience.
Are you comfortable with sex bomb image?
People want me to be like that. I would not mind wearing any type of clothes be it Saree or bikini. As long as I make audiences happy, I love to wear all dresses. It is just fine for me. But I feel comparing me with Mallika Sherawat or Illeana is wrong. I am just Kausha.
Are you game for on screen smooches with heroes?
Yeah. I have no problem doing any kind of scenes provided the requirement of the scene. I am bold. I think I am not doing it for personal entertainment. It is fore film. So what is wrong in it? Like you laugh, cry, kissing is just another normal human expression. Why should we shy it from?
What is important for you – remuneration or character?Both. But people don't come to see you how much money you are collecting. So essentially character comes first.
What is your take on casting couch?
I haven't faced it but I am aware of it. Tollywood has friendlier environment. Casting couch exists in the industry that I know for sure. There are certain things in the industry that should be improved.
You seem to be very independent!
Yes, I am a very independent, modern woman.
How does an independent lady cope in a male dominated film industry?
I am not the top heroine to have any problems with heroines.
10 years down the lane, what would you be?
(laughs) Married with 2 kids. Marriage is important in one's life.
When are you getting married?
No plans yet.
Love marriage or arranged marriage?
I don't know now. I also believe in arranged marriage too. Love is more risky. It looks good initially but the differences creep in as the honeymoon period settles in. At least in arranged marriage you don't expect much. So I may go for arranged marriage.
Got any love proposals?No. Not from anyone yet.
What attracts you to men?
I like men those who respect women. Most of Indian men are very rude and their behavior towards women is nasty.
How do you handle gossips?
I hardly care for them. I take it light. The weirdest gossip I read in one of websites that I am doing item songs and glam roles because I am not getting any substantial offers from Tollywood. It was at that time of Raaraju. Just because I did very sexy item song in that film, they came to that conclusion.
Your favourite actress?
I love Sridevi very much. In Hollywood, Marilyn Monroe is the ultimate diva that I adore.
Actors?
I don't fancy heroes actually. But I feel Shah Rukh Khan has become sexier after he has turned 40.
What do you do when you are not acting?
I love to listen to music and dance. I like traveling around. Goa is the best place for me.
Forthcoming films..
Attili Sattibabu LKG is getting released. Buddha is under production. I have another important character in Mantra that has Charmi as the main heroine.
